Airlie Gardens’ history dates back to 1884, when Pembroke and Sarah Jones purchased the property and transformed it into a picturesque garden. They offer guided tours, beautiful scenery for photography, events, exhibits, summer concert series, oyster roast and much more!

The Bellamy Mansion, built between 1859 and 1861, is a mixture of Neoclassical architectural styles, including Greek Revival and Italianate, and is located at 503 Market Street in the heart of downtown Wilmington, North Carolina. It is one of North Carolina’s finest examples of historic antebellum architecture.

Stroll along nearly two-miles of scenic walkway alongside the historic Cape Fear River. Stretching from Nunn Street to the Isabella Holmes Bridge, lined with an assortment of markets, unique boutiques and art galleries, the Riverwalk is home to outdoor cafes and narrated tours. The marina at the north end accommodates larger vessels, with an outdoor concert venue as well as a restaurant featuring spectacular river and sunset views. One hotel with a roof top view has opened and there is another one currently under construction nearby. The Riverwalk is open year-round, featuring over 200 close-by shops, restaurants and attractions. Conlon Pier is a popular spot for catching views of the river, and is the only spot along the Riverwalk where fishing is allowed.
The Wilmington Railroad Museum has a great collection of displays and fun activities for both adults and children. Climb on a real life-size caboose and 100-year-old steam locomotive. Trace the development of railroads in the Wilmington area and learn about the men and women who worked on the railroad.
Learn about the important figures in railroad history, such as Thomas Edison and George Pullman.
Visit the Children's Hall with custom train tables and fun interactive models beloved by children of all ages. We also boast a spectacular model layout considered one of the best in the country and internationally which features a number of foot pedals you can interact with the trains and accessories.
